Pulau Perhentian 24/04/07- 01/05/07
Hi all, this Perhentian trip has been long overdue!!! I know..for those whom have browsed my friendster, you would have caught a glimpse of the beautiful island and moments being captured. For those whom have not, just go and check it out ya =)
Its been a busy month for me with the getting adapted at work and all, whole new life altogether. The trip was a good break for me right before the start of the new job. Nothing beats slacking around doing nothing but fun fun fun and all these with great company.. what can anyone else ask for ya?
Everything thats associated with the trip is new to me..allow me to bring you through it =)
1) I have to take a 12 hr coach (night coach meaning I have to sleep throught the night 'by right') to Terranganu, something that I have never done before..the max I have gone is a 8-hr flight to Sydney, thats about it! and on the plane I have movies to watch but this..I have endless passing street lights, bumpy bus and cold cold air con to company me through the night. Slept max 3-4 hours on both back n for trip.

2) Taking a speed boat to the island thats like..woo hoo..the boat is sliding through the choppy waters at high speed..with it comes the super bumpy ride and of coz splashing water thats shoots past your face and u feel like its slapping you! wahaha.. my poor butt..but its quite fun la..
3) Upon arrival at the resort, I'm greeted by comando mosquitoes =( and being an ex mossi personnel..of coz 1st thing I will do is to identify what species it is!!! Being black and white they seems to be the sumo size Aedes species in Singapore but they're actually Amigeres species la..hehe..
4) Next is the resort...oh gosh..so nice...the interior is exactly like any hotels just that.. er hmm..they dont have a TV!!..Call me suah-ku..I didnt know that the usual resorts dont have one either...I'm like: oh my goodness what are we going to do at night!!!
5) As we have paid for a full board accomodation, lunch and dinner is included too..and guess what I simply love the meals coz..they're like traditional home cooked food..with the usual soup and please they dont use those MSG filled stock cubes.. they actually put red dates..chicken and all..I'm impressed and plus the other 3 dishes..Every meal time is like a big 'family' gathering since there's 7 of us..So heartwarming!!

6) Next will have to be the snorkelling, my 1st time trying it out! Though I swim quite alot, my threading in water..fail...w/o that safety vest..I wont dare to go into the water..might just drown..hehe..Snorkelling on a very good sunny day..you can simply just see every single thing underneath the waters..the corals...fish..we were at this spot underneath the lighthouse.. and there're like thousands of fish there.. simply make this trip a worthwhile one..they just swim together with you..just hope that they wont bite my butt la..=)..oh and I saw alot of nemos...so adorable!!!...I also saw a pool of fish, something like hump head fish..at least a dozen of them..they're like 30cm W by 50 cm L, jaws almost dropped upon seeing them.
7) Sun tanning!!! got a tann from there..[who doesnt? when you go to the beach]..got so tann on the face that I'm like..die la..1st day of work and I am going to appear like a Malay instead of a Chinese..that will be quite amusing..Saw a group of angmohs which I am sure their motto is: die die must get a tann b4 heading home..they just bake in the sun for like 2-3 days for many hours..I will be like: alright 2 hrs have passed, time to flip to bbq the other side..hehe..
8) Many bits about the trip is joy, there're also sad moments. Along the coastline there're made-shift 'sheds' that sell the usual tibits..drinks and little items you need during a resort stay (which our group did grab quite a few stuff from there). Of coz they're not legal, these ppl are just making a livinghood through the minimal resources they have. We arrived on a Sat, on Monday early morning we saw government officials tearing down the sheds coz they're illegal. Items were removed from the sheds where a couple of tourists helped out and alot of ppl become spectators. Quite sad to see it happened, though the sheds are small, the amount thats been brought out is amazing. How are they going to sell these things off? But oh well, seeing this episode being carried out in front of us is just something for us to think about. In the midst of our enjoyment, we see the true colors of life, its not joy all the time.
